The BIG Biodiversity Challenge is now closed for submissions
 

The BIG Biodiversity Challenge invites you to join the movement to protect and enhance biodiversity in the built environment.

Enter the 2023 Awards

 

1. Choose the relevant award categories relating to your biodiversity enhancements.

 

2. Nominate a Biodiversity Champion (2 categories to choose from).

3. Download & complete the Project Entry Form and the Champion Entry Form.

​

4. Return the submission forms to bigawards@ciria.org. The extended submission deadline is 5:00PM on 5 June 2023. A shortlist will be announced  following the judging process due to be completed in July 2023.

 

The BIG Biodiversity Challenge Award ceremony

The winners will be announced at the #BIGAwards ceremony in September. Full details will be announced in due course.

Categories and guidelines:

 

Please refer to the 2023 Award categories page for more information about this year's awards. Please note:

 

  • There are 10 award categories this year and each enhancement can be entered into two categories. 

  • Judges will select an overall winner for the enhancement/professional that demonstrates an outstanding commitment to biodiversity.

  • The awards are free to enter.

  • In order to be eligible for the BIG Biodiversity Challenge 2023, your project must have been completed in the 24 months up to and including 12 May 2023.

  • For the Biodiversity Legacy Award the programme should have been in place for at least 12 months up to and including 12 May 2023.

Key dates:

  • EXTENDED - 5 June 2023 - BIG Biodiversity Challenge 2023 closes for entries.

  • July 2023 - Awards shortlist announced following Judging Day. 

  • November 2023 - BIG Biodiversity Challenge Awards ceremony.
